In contrast, IG541 mixed gas (composed of 52% nitrogen, 40% argon, and 8% carbon dioxide) is a natural and environmentally friendly inert gas with zero ozone depletion potential and global warming potential. IG541 is mainly used for extinguishing fires through physical asphyxiation. Due to its relative safety to the human body at the designed concentration, it allows personnel to stay for a short period of time, making it particularly suitable for places where personnel reside or have extremely high environmental requirements, such as financial data centers and hospital operating rooms. Although the cost of carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems is relatively low, they are usually limited to unmanned specific industrial sites due to their extremely high risk of suffocation.
