The fire pump unit and pump cannon system are the core equipment used in modern fire engineering to extinguish large-scale and high-risk fires. They are widely used in places such as petrochemicals, ports, large warehouses, high-rise buildings, and ships. The system consists of fire pump units, fire cannons, water supply pipelines, control devices, and power sources. The fire pump units are the "heart" of the system, while the fire cannons are the "arms" that perform firefighting tasks.

消防泵组通常采用离心式水泵作为核心设备,其工作原理基于离心力作用——水泵启动前需充满水,叶轮高速旋转时产生离心力,将水从叶轮中心甩向边缘,经蜗壳收集后压入出水管,从而实现水的输送与增压。消防泵组的选型主要依据流量—扬程曲线,该曲线反映了水泵在不同工况下的工作能力。根据《消防泵性能和试验方法》标准,消防泵的性能和技术条件有严格规定。在泵组配置方面,消防泵和稳压泵均应设置备用泵,备用泵的工作能力不应小于其中非常大一台工作泵的工作能力。同一泵组的消防水泵型号宜一致,且工作泵不宜超过3台。水泵外壳宜为球墨铸铁,叶轮应是青铜或不锈钢,以确保耐腐蚀性和长期运行的可靠性。

Fire pump sets usually use centrifugal water pumps as the core equipment, and their working principle is based on centrifugal force - the water pump needs to be filled with water before starting, and centrifugal force is generated when the impeller rotates at high speed, which throws the water from the center of the impeller to the edge, collects it through the volute, and presses it into the outlet pipe, thereby achieving water transportation and pressure increase. The selection of fire pump units is mainly based on the flow head curve, which reflects the working capacity of the pump under different working conditions. According to the "Performance and Test Methods for Fire Pumps" standard, there are strict regulations on the performance and technical conditions of fire pumps. In terms of pump configuration, both the fire pump and the stabilizing pump should be equipped with backup pumps, and the working capacity of the backup pump should not be less than that of the largest working pump. The models of fire pumps in the same pump group should be consistent, and the number of working pumps should not exceed 3. The casing of the water pump should be made of ductile iron, and the impeller should be made of bronze or stainless steel to ensure corrosion resistance and long-term reliability.

The water monitor system is applicable to general solid combustible fire, the foam monitor system is applicable to Class A, B and C liquid and solid combustible fire, and the dry powder monitor system is applicable to liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas and other combustible gas fire places. The layout of fire cannons has strict regulatory requirements: the number of indoor fire cannons should not be less than two, and their layout height should ensure that the water jet is not affected by the upper building components, and should be able to simultaneously reach any part of the protected area with the water jet from both water cannons. The arrangement of outdoor fire cannons requires that the jet completely covers the protected area and objects, and should meet the requirements of fire extinguishing intensity and cooling intensity. The structural strength of the fire turret should be able to withstand both the maximum wind force at the site of use and the reaction force of the fire cannon spray.

In terms of control, the remote control cannon system should have the function of remotely controlling the fire pump group, remote control cannon, and related equipment, including controlling the pitch, horizontal rotation, and related valve actions of the fire cannon. The fire control room should be able to prioritize the control of equipment operated by wireless controllers. The time from the start of the water monitor system and the foam monitor system to the muzzle spraying of water or foam shall not be more than 5 minutes, and the time for the dry powder monitor system shall not be more than 2 minutes. This rapid response capability is crucial for effective control in the early stages of a fire.
